Tom Bannen just finished running a Microcystin test on the lake water.  Since we are
at the peak of the bloom, he pulled samples on August 3 from 11 different locations
around the lake.  All samples were NEGATIVE.

The attached picture shows the results.  For reference, the two tubes at the
bottom are the positive controls that indicate toxin levels of 0.5ppb and
3.0 ppb.   The sample tubes have to have blue color darker than the
controls.  If the color is lighter, that is a positive result.

As you can see, we had some good strong blue color in all areas tested.  No
trace Microcystins were detected.

1)      South channel area

2)      Highland Campground beach area

3)      Percy Hawkes area

4)      Haven road area

5)      Ice House road area

6)      Beach road/Vista drive cove

7)      Cottage road/Pine Drive  area

8)      Winslow Common swim float area

9)      Pride Farm sandy cove area

10)    Huston road area

11)    Hideaway/Sunset road area

We have a few tubes left and will sample the lake after the bloom has passed
and the lake is clear again, probably around Labor Day.
